Arnold Lumber’s
Wakefield Branch
Opened in 1874, “The Branch” has been a social center for local farmers, builders and neighbors for generations.
The old storefront was modernized beyond recognition when Arnold Lumber purchased the property. Wood siding, installed in the 1960s, obstructed old brickwork, which was largely intact, but covered with Canary yellow paint. Martone provided chemical stripping and lead abatement services on all of the brick on the project, which earned a 2015 “Rhody Award” from Preserve Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission.
