The Edward Everett Hale House
Former summer home of famed American author and clergyman Rev. Dr. Edward Everett Hale is a historic site and cultural destination.
The Hale family spent 37 summers in this Matunuck home cultivating an active colony of artists and writers. When the local historical society acquired the property in 2006, accumulated years of deferred maintenance required careful attention. Martone chemically removed all existing coating to bare wood, set and filled all nail holes, and primed and painted exterior surfaces to its ca. 1890 color scheme.
