Logan Airport
A city within a city, Boston’s Logan Airport is New England’s largest transportation center.
Logan has four jet fuel tanks that supply 40 airlines flying non-stop to more than 100 domestic and international destinations, and serving tens of millions of passengers per year. To protect the tanks, Martone erected scaffolding, shrunk wrapped each tank, sandblasted exterior shells, and coated them with epoxy and urethane. The demands of on-going operations required that the team take one tank offline at a time, putting each fully back in service before work on the next tank began.
