TF Green Airport
Originally constructed in 1942, the Art Moderne style concrete Hangar 2 needed a facelift.
Martone managed the rehabilitation of Hangar 2, which suffered from loose and flaking coating, spalled brick with cracking at the buttress and cap stones, and water filtration at the windows. Surface preparation began with a 5,000 PSI water wash. Next, the team patched spalled brick, and addressed cracking with filling, chalking and mesh reinforcements. Finally, an acrylic coating system RD-Elastoflex was applied to waterproof and protect the building envelope.
